Caring for Multiple Cats

Living with more than one cat is wonderful — and a little trickier than living with one. Here are our most-recommended tips for a harmonious multi-cat home.

Multi-Pet Visit Courtesy

When you bring 3 or more cats in for exams on the same visit, you’ll receive a 5% courtesy discount on exam fees for that visit. It’s our way of thanking you for keeping the whole crew on a wellness schedule.

Just mention the multi-pet visit when you book — no special code needed.

  • Bring everyone together

Booking all your cats on the same visit means less stress for you and consistent care for them — and we can offer a 5% multi-pet courtesy on same-visit exams for households with 3+ cats.

  • Litter box math

The rule is "one box per cat, plus one extra." A 3-cat household needs 4 boxes. Spread them across rooms — not lined up in one spot.

  • Watch the eating

Cats often steal each other’s food, which makes it hard to spot a sick cat going off food. Feed in separate rooms or use microchip feeders for prescription diets.

  • Separate resources

Multiple water stations, scratching posts, and resting spots reduce conflict — especially across floors and away from busy traffic areas.

  • Watch for bullying

Cats are subtle. Blocking access to food, water, or the litter box is a common form of bullying that owners often miss. If one cat seems to "wait their turn," it’s worth a conversation.
